The department gave a plaque of recognition to CJFI during the 15th Anniversary of the Area Based Network (Absnet) Region 11 held March 30, 2015 in Pulong’s Restaurant in Tagum City.
CJFI executive director Rosemarie Navallo-Dimagnaong, said in an interview,
“CJFI was best NGO in Region 11 in 2013. In 2014, we became national finalist. Being top three or top five in the nationals is already a feat. We really didn’t expect to bag the top award because we are just new in the limelight. It’s enough the we got nominated.”
The Salamat Po Award was conducted to recognize different stakeholders who have given support and contribution to the implementation of DSWD’s programs and projects.
DSWD Field Office 11 has three Absnet clusters in the region. One of the clusters is currently headed by CJFI executive director Rosemarie Navallo Dimagnaong. CJFI has given its full support to Absnet’s activities that contributed to significant rise in the number of active members of the cluster. From less than 10 members, it currently has 30 active members.
The said event began with a motorcade from Davao City Hall that was participated in by different NGOs and government organizations (GOs) all throughout Region 11.
Dimagnaong and CJFI staff joined other participants in a courtesy visit to Panabo City Mayor Jose Silvosa Sr. before proceeding to Tagum City.
Sy urged all Absnet members to continue helping others in need.
